About S.S.C

Staff Selection Commission is a department comes under Government of India. The main work is to recruit staff for various posts in the various Ministries and Departments of the Govt. of India and in subordinate offices. This commission is an attached office of the Department of Personnel and Training, which consists of chairman, two members and secretary-cum controller of Examinations. His work is similar to that Additional secretary to the Govt. of India.

The functions of the Staff Selection Commission were defined by the Govt. of India through Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions in 21 May 1999.The Head Quarters of S.S.C is at New Delhi. There are 7 Regional offices and two sub-regional offices. Each Regional office is headed by a Deputy Director.

SSC JE 2019

STAFF SELECTION COMMISSION conducts SSC JE exam yearly for various departments such as Military Engineering Services, Central Public Works Department, Central Water Commission and India Post etc.The online application form for SSC Junior Engineer is released along with the notification.Candidates for the post of Junior Engineer (Civil, Electrical and Mechanical) will be selected based on their performance in Paper I and II .

Eligibility

Age:

The age limit varies as per posts. Candidates upto the age of 32 years can apply for the exam

Academic qualification:

Diploma or deree in Civil, Electrical, Mechanical engineering.

Admit Card:

The admit card of SSC JE is issued in two phases – Paper I and Paper II. The SSC JE 2019 admit card for candidates appearing in the Paper I exam is released by the examination authority. The admit card of Paper I is issued to only those candidates whose applications will be accepted by SSC. Candidates qualifying the Paper I exam will receive the SSC JE admit card of Paper II. The admit cards of both the stages are usually issued two weeks before the date of examination. Details like name, roll number, registration number, date of birth, category, photograph and signature, date, time and exam centre are mentioned in the admit card. Along with SSC JE admit card 2019, candidates must carry one photo-identity proof and three passport sized photographs.

Exam Pattern:

The SSC JE 2019 exam pattern, Paper I consists of 200 objective type questions from General Intelligence Reasoning, General Awareness and Part A (General Engineering – Civil and Structural)/Part B General Engineering (Electrical)/Part C General Engineering (Mechanical). The Paper I carries 200 marks. The Paper II consists of conventional type questions of engineering discipline.This paper carries 300 marks for 2 hours.

Important Dates:

  • A candidate must pay Rs. 100/- as SSC JE 2018-19 Online Application Fee.
  • Candidates belonging to Reserved Category (SC/ST/PWD) are exempted from paying Online Application Fee for SSC JE 2018-19 Exam.
  • The examination fee can be paid both online (net banking/debit card/credit card) and offline (e-challan).

Syllabus

SSC JE exam, by Staff Selection Commission conducts the exam in a 2 level (Paper 1 and Paper 2). SSC JE covers 3 parts of engineering – Mechanical, Civil, Electrical, which students will have to gone through to get at next level – Recruitment process.

Result:

The result of SSC JE is declared in three stages – Paper I, Paper II and Final. The commission first announces the result of Paper I. Candidates who have qualified the Paper I exam by securing the prescribed cutoff are eligible for appearing in Paper II. On the basis of the marks in Paper II , candidates are called for document verification and the final result are declared. The final selection of candidates are done on the basis of their performance in Paper I and II.The results of all the stages of SSC JE will be available online. The names ,roll numbers and the category of qualified candidates will be available in a PDF file. The marks of candidates are released few days after the declaration of result.

S.S.C Combined Level Graduate Exam

The Combined Graduate prelims exam is conducted by S.S.C once in a year. The Prelims Exam is conducted for selection of candidates for the Main Exam. S.S.C offers nearly 30,000 Central Govt. Jobs per year. The minimum qualification of this exam is plus two. The candidate must have a good knowledge about Geometry & Trigonometry. It will be helpful for exam. Through a regular Newspaper reading you will get a good knowledge in current affairs.

Examination will comprise of one paper of objective type with the following parts.

Time Available: 2 hours (2 hours 40 minutes for VH Candidates.)

Negative Marking: 0.25 marks for each wrong answer

CGL-Tier -II Exam Pattern

This Examination consists of three Objective Multiple choice papers which the candidates will be required to take depending upon their qualifications and options for various posts.

Time Available: 2 hours for Each Paper.

Negative Marking: 0.25 marks for each wrong answer in Paper-2 and 0.50 marks for Paper-1 and paper-3

Tier-III- Interview & Skill Test

Tier III Consist of interview and skill test depending upon the post that you are applied.

Interview will carry a maximum of 100 marks. Candidates applying for Auditor, Accountant, UDCs, Tax Assistant and Compiler are not required to appear for an Interview.

Data Entry skill test is for the post of Tax Assistants (Central Excise and Income Tax). The “Data Entry Speed” skill Test at 2000 key depressions for duration of 15 minutes will be of qualifying nature.

Computer Proficiency Test (CPT) for post other than statistical Investigator Grade-II

Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification: Degree of a recognized university or equivalent.

Age:

  • 20 to 27 years for Assistant Grade & SIS in CBI
  • 18 to 27 years for Inspectors of CE/IT & Auditors/UDCs etc.
  • 20 to 25 years for SIs in CPOs on the first day of August of the year of examination.
